from soup to nuts
is off the chains and not
unlike juggling picked onions
it’s nice to have one’s cake and eat it too
especially if you’re a tempest in a teapot
because you’re all mouth and no trousers
and i’ve brought a knife to a gunfight
opening up a can of worms
while the cat has got my tongue
but curiosity killed the cat
dead as a doornail
