You know how a “Quarter Pounder with Cheese” is a “Royale with Cheese” in Europe? (Apologies to Quentin Tarantino).
Well, the original “Smurf” created in Belgium was actually a “Schtroumpf.” And, they still call it that today.
In fact, the theme song goes, “La La La Schtroumph La La.”
This is the kind of knowledge that you acquire by marrying a French woman.
